Hi! I’m Jamie Witman. Originally from South Florida, I moved to Tallahassee in 2008 to begin my undergraduate career. I earned my B.A. in Religion in 2012 and while in school I had the honor of being a member of the Marching Chiefs. Shortly after graduating in 2012 I began my M.S. in Library Science (also at FSU, can you say Go ‘Noles?!) and graduated in 2015. I plan to pursue a second Master’s degree in Political Science/American Studies starting soon.
Currently I am the Collection Development Library Associate for Strozier Library at FSU. As a Library Associate at FSU, I have the privilege of providing customer service and reference help to a diverse group of students, faculty and visitors. I also get to be a part of a great team focusing on collection development, co-managing FSU’s government document collection and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Outside of my work responsibilities, my professional interests include Government Information Management, Reference and Instruction, Digital Humanities and Collection Development Issues.
When I’m not at work, I play ultimate frisbee. I have played for the FSU Women’s team as well as multiple club teams based in Tallahassee. I also enjoy hiking and exploring with my wonderful husband and our wild and crazy dogs.
